Food Spotlight: Fat Cake Guy

So I was looking for something to do this weekend, and I remembered a local business that I had spotted on Facebook. The Fat Cake Guy is a bakery and candy shop all wrapped up in one! I went to this house of sweets out of pure curiosity and took along two young friends Minetta and Brianna. I must say I highly recommend those with and without children go check out this delightful place. The highlight of my trip was having drinks at the "Candy Bar." My young friends and I walked over to the bar and had a seat on bar stools and ordered from a menu of frozen and candy treats; may I suggest the Cream Brulee, it was yummy!!! I even learned of an iPhone app called Scan; and got a free strawberry cupcake by just scanning a little code with my phone! Scoooore!!!! So if you're in need of something to do this summer; especially in the heat; visit The Fat Cake Guy and have a delightful frozen treat!!!!

Update: Natural Hair Journey

About two years ago I made the decision to stop perming my hair and go natural; I even started a youtube channel, but about 5 months in I got frustrated and permed my hair! #FAIL So in January of 2011, I decided to try my natural hair journey again and have been going strong since then! I did not immediately do the "big chop," I dealt with what I call "two texture madness" for about a year and in December 2011 I got most of the remaining straight ends cut off! I kept my big chop a secret from most by immediately getting a sew in!!! Sssshhh!!! So today I am posting pics of my hair 5 months after cutting off most of my remaining straight ends in a wash and go style! Loving my curls and still going strong!!! It can be done! Besos!!! 💋

Food Spot Light: Cozumel Mexican Food

If you are in the Jackson Ms area stop by Cozumel! The ambiance is nice; the wait staff is prompt and friendly! I recommend the Shrimp Alambre which is a fantastic dish with grilled shrimp kabobs over rice, beans and served with lettuce and pico de gallo!
